A Festival of Fabulous Mums

Celebrate autumn color at Duke Gardens during this chrysanthemum showcase. You'll find stunning displays of exhibition mums both outdoors in the Japanese Garden and indoors at the Doris Duke Center. Expert members from the Central Carolina Chrysanthemum Society will be present to walk you through the 13 different chrysanthemum varieties and answer any questions you have about these fall favorites. This is a free, drop-in event open to all ages—just know that children need to be accompanied by an adult. Fair warning: while the indoor area is accessible via paved paths, the outdoor sections combine paved walkways with some unpaved terrain and gentle slopes, so wear comfortable shoes.
