Art on the Dot

Interactive art experience at NC Museum of Art where kids create and explore.

Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's guided tour program designed for visitors who want a focused, manageable introduction to the collection. During each session, a museum educator leads small groups through a brief exploration of about three artworks, spending roughly half an hour together. It's a great option if you're short on time or want your family to experience the museum without feeling rushed. The program runs on weekend afternoons with three separate tours back-to-back, each lasting 30 minutes with short breaks between rounds. You're welcome to join just one tour or stick around to experience multiple sessions and discover different works of art. General admission is free, making it an accessible way for families to enjoy the museum and learn from a knowledgeable guide. This format works especially well for younger children or anyone who prefers a more intimate, structured experience rather than wandering on their own.
