Art on the Dot
Interactive art activity for kids at NC Museum of Art's West Building.
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's compact tour experience, perfect for families who want to explore art without a huge time commitment. A museum docent leads small groups through about three carefully selected artworks in just 30 minutes, offering insights and inviting visitors to engage with each piece. The tour repeats three times on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with 15-minute breaks between sessions, so you can join one tour or stay for multiple rounds to see different selections.
This free program is ideal for families with younger children or anyone looking for a focused, manageable museum visit. Since tours begin at 2:30 p.m. and run through the afternoon, it's an easy way to experience quality art instruction without overwhelming your schedule. General admission is included, and you're welcome to explore the rest of the museum before or after your tour.
