Art on the Dot
Interactive art activity for kids at NC Museum of Art's West Building.
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's casual approach to guided looking. A docent leads small groups through focused conversations about three carefully selected artworks, spending about 30 minutes per tour. It's a relaxed way to spend an afternoon exploring what the museum has on view, without committing to a lengthy visit.
The museum runs three back-to-back tours on weekend afternoons, with a 15-minute break between each one. You're welcome to join one tour, stay for multiple rounds, or come back another weekend to see which different pieces the next docent chooses to highlight. General admission is free, making this an affordable introduction to looking at art together as a family.
