Art on the Dot

Art on the Dot at NC Museum of Art — interactive art activities for young creators.

Art on the Dot offers a fresh take on museum exploration perfect for families who want a focused, manageable art experience. Rather than wandering through galleries, you'll join a museum educator for an intimate 30-minute tour centered on just three carefully selected artworks. These tours happen in three back-to-back rounds on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with a 15-minute break between each session, so you can participate in one tour or stick around for multiple rounds to discover different pieces and perspectives. This program is ideal for children and adults who appreciate art but might feel overwhelmed by longer tours or prefer deeper conversations about fewer works. Best of all, admission is completely free. You're welcome to arrive for whichever round fits your schedule—just show up at the West Building ready to engage with the art and the docent's insights. It's a relaxed, low-pressure way to experience what the museum has to offer.
