Art on the Dot
Interactive art activity for kids at NC Museum of Art's West Building.
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's friendly, short-form tour program designed for families who want to explore art without a big time commitment. A museum guide leads small groups through three different artworks over the course of 30 minutes, offering insights and encouraging visitors to engage directly with each piece. The museum runs three back-to-back rounds of these tours on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with a 15-minute break between each session, so you can join one tour, stay for multiple rounds, or come back another weekend to discover new works.
Best of all, this program is completely free with general museum admission. Whether your kids are curious beginners or budding art enthusiasts, Art on the Dot makes it easy to experience quality museum programming without overwhelming younger visitors or requiring a lengthy visit. It's a great way to sample what the museum has to offer and get your family comfortable exploring art together.
