Art on the Dot

Interactive art program at NC Museum of Art's West Building in Raleigh.

Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's casual approach to exploring the galleries. A museum educator leads small groups through focused 30-minute tours, highlighting about three artworks each time. The experience is designed to be manageable and enjoyable—perfect if you want to see art without committing to a lengthy visit. General admission is free, so you only pay if you're visiting the museum itself. On weekend afternoons, three separate tour rounds run back-to-back with 15-minute breaks in between, giving you flexibility to join one session or stay for multiple tours if your family is interested. It's a great option for families with younger children or anyone who prefers a more intimate, bite-sized introduction to the collections rather than an exhaustive tour.
