Art on the Dot

Interactive art activity at NC Museum of Art's West Building.

Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's casual approach to exploring the collection. A museum guide leads small groups through three carefully selected artworks over the course of 30 minutes, keeping things intimate and engaging. The experience repeats three times throughout the afternoon, with a 15-minute break between each session, so families can join one round or stay for multiple tours to see different pieces. This is a great option if your family wants a guided museum experience without a big time commitment. General admission is free, and there's flexibility built in—you can drop in for one quick tour or make an afternoon of it by catching all three rounds. It's perfect for families with varying attention spans or those new to visiting the museum, since each session stands on its own.
