Art on the Dot
Interactive art activity at NC Museum of Art.
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's streamlined tour experience, perfect for families who want an introduction to the collection without committing to a lengthy program. A museum educator guides small groups through about three carefully selected artworks in just 30 minutes, offering insight and conversation around each piece. It's a flexible way to experience the museum—you can join one tour or stay for multiple sessions throughout the afternoon.
The program runs on weekend afternoons with three back-to-back rounds, each lasting 30 minutes with a 15-minute break in between. General admission is free, so you only need to show up and find the docent at the West Building. This format works wonderfully if you're new to museum visits, have younger children, or simply want to enjoy art without a heavy time commitment. Different artworks are featured each weekend, giving you reason to return and discover something fresh.
