Art on the Dot
Interactive art program at NC Museum of Art West Building.
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's casual approach to guided exploration. A museum docent leads visitors through focused tours of about three artworks, spending roughly 30 minutes on each session. This is a great option if you want some expert insight without committing to a lengthy program—perfect for families who want to learn something but keep the experience bite-sized and manageable.
The museum runs three rounds of these tours back-to-back on weekend afternoons, with a 15-minute break between each session. You're welcome to join one round, hop between multiple sessions, or make it a regular weekend habit to see what different docents feature. Best of all, general admission is free, so you can experience the tours without extra cost. It's an easygoing way to discover art with your family at your own pace.
