Art on the Dot
Interactive art activity for kids at NC Museum of Art's West Building.
Art on the Dot is a guided tour program at the North Carolina Museum of Art designed to give families a focused look at the museum's collections. Rather than spending hours exploring, you and your children will join a docent for a quick 30-minute tour centered on just three artworks. This bite-sized format makes it perfect for younger kids or anyone who wants a more manageable museum experience.
On Saturdays and Sundays, three separate tours run back-to-back with 15-minute breaks in between, so you can attend one session or stay longer and experience multiple rounds. Best of all, admission is completely free. Each weekend features a different docent and new selections, so return visits offer fresh perspectives and different pieces to discover. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to art appreciation without the overwhelm of a full museum visit.
