Art on the Dot

Art on the Dot offers families a flexible, low-pressure way to explore the museum's collection. During this weekend afternoon program, a knowledgeable guide leads small groups through focused discussions about three carefully selected artworks, spending about 30 minutes together. The museum runs three back-to-back rounds starting at 2:30 pm, each separated by a 15-minute break, so you can join one session or stay for multiple rounds depending on your family's schedule and energy level. This is a great option if your kids are new to museum visits or if you want to deepen your appreciation for specific pieces without committing to a lengthy tour. Best of all, admission is completely free. Simply show up at the West Building during the scheduled time—no registration required. It's a perfect introduction to docent-led experiences, and you're welcome to return on different weekends to see which new artworks the next guide will feature.
