New to birdwatching? This beginner-friendly program is perfect for kids ages 8 and up who want to learn how to spot and identify common birds. You'll spend about two hours exploring different areas at Prairie Ridge with a naturalist guide, taking a leisurely mile-long walk while observing birds in their natural habitat. It's a relaxed, hands-on introduction to the hobby. Beyond bird identification, you'll also discover how birdwatchers contribute to larger scientific efforts by sharing their observations with collaborative projects. Registration is required for all Prairie Ridge programs, so be sure to sign up before your visit. This is a great outdoor activity for families interested in nature and citizen science.
