Books and Badges

Officers from the Hillsborough Police Department visit the Main Library once a month to read aloud from their favorite children's books. Your child will enjoy a 30-minute storytime in an intimate setting with up to six other children. Two time slots are available to fit your family's schedule: 3:30–4:00 PM or 4:00–4:30 PM. When you arrive, check in at the children's desk. Following the readings, kids get to ask questions and learn directly from local police officers about their work in the community. It's a wonderful chance for children to connect with books, meet community helpers, and have an interactive library experience. Parents may sit in during storytime or stay nearby. Registration is preferred, so please sign up each child in advance. The program welcomes children from infants through fifth graders.
