Carrboro's July 4th Celebration ⭐️

Carrboro's July 4th Celebration with activities, readings, and all-day community festivities.

Carrboro's July 4th celebration runs all day long, giving families plenty of reasons to head downtown. The festivities kick off at 9:30 a.m. at Weaver Street Market, followed by a community parade at 10:50 a.m. led by the Bulltown Strutters. From there, activities continue at Carrboro Town Commons through early afternoon before wrapping up with the 13th Annual Community Reading of the Frederick Douglass Essay "The Meaning of July Fourth for the Negro" at the Century Center from 2 to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). This is a free event perfect for families wanting to celebrate together. If you plan to start your day at Weaver Street Market and catch the parade, use the public parking lots throughout downtown rather than Carr Mill Mall lots, which are reserved for customers. The organizers also welcome donations of non-perishable food items for PORCH, with collection bins at both Weaver Street Market and Town Commons. Arriving early is smart if you want a good seat for the afternoon reading.
