Classical Music in the Park

Spend a September evening enjoying live classical music performed outdoors at Museum Park. Multiple small ensembles and solo musicians will perform across several outdoor stations throughout the evening, so you and your family can wander between performances and create your own experience. The music spans centuries of styles—from Renaissance and Baroque through contemporary pieces—giving everyone something to enjoy. With continuous performances from 6 to 9 pm, you can stay for the whole evening or drop by for a few of your favorite sets. This free event (registration required) is perfect for families wanting to experience live music in a relaxed, outdoor setting. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to get comfortable, since seating at each performance station is limited. The performances happen in 20-minute sets near the Blue Ridge Road parking area, making it easy to explore different musical stations at your own pace. It's a wonderful way to introduce kids to classical music in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.
