Climate Up Close

Your family is invited to meet actual climate scientists and ask them your burning questions during this interactive presentation at the Nature Research Center. Climate Up Close brings together working researchers from institutions like NOAA, Cornell, Harvard, and UC San Diego to discuss what we know—and don't know—about climate change. The scientists present a clear, straightforward 45-minute overview of climate impacts, from heat waves to sea level rise, then open things up for extended Q&A. It's a chance to hear from real experts who focus on the science itself, steering clear of politics and doom-and-gloom messaging. After the main talk wraps up, you'll have time to chat one-on-one with the panelists, making this a genuinely personal experience rather than just a lecture. This works well for curious kids and adults who want to understand climate science better and get their questions answered directly by people who study this professionally. The event takes place in the SECU Daily Planet Theater, and admission is included with general museum entry.
