Collaborative Science Research Day

Your family is invited to help real scientists at work during this special research day at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. You'll have the chance to become a collaborative scientist yourself—working alongside museum researchers to contribute to actual ongoing projects. Depending on your interests, you might document dragonflies in the field, examine monkey blood cells under microscopes, or help classify galaxies. It's a hands-on way to see what research actually looks like and understand how museums use science to learn about our world. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor of the Nature Research Center, so families can drop in anytime during those hours that works best for them. This is a great opportunity for curious kids and adults of all ages who want to explore different areas of science and see how they might contribute to real discovery. General admission to the museum is free, making this an affordable outing for families looking for something educational and engaging.
