Food & Fiction

Teens cook simple recipes and discover new books in this hands-on storytelling class.

This is a creative class combining two things many teens love: cooking and reading. Your teen will prepare a simple snack recipe during the first part of each session, then dive into a relaxed discussion about books, characters, and stories that connect to what they just made. It's a low-pressure way to explore new genres and discover stories they might not have picked up otherwise. No prior cooking skills are required—just bring an open mind and an appetite. All materials and ingredients are provided, so there's nothing to prepare ahead of time. The program runs for about 90 minutes and welcomes middle and high school students, as well as younger teens with an interest in food and stories. It's a great fit for kids who like hands-on activities, enjoy reading, or want to try something different with their peers.
