Food & Fiction

Teens cook easy recipes while discovering new books in a hands-on storytelling class.

This event combines cooking and reading in a welcoming format designed for middle and high school teens. Participants will prepare easy-to-make snacks during each session, then wind down with a themed reading activity. The recipes are simple enough for beginners—no prior cooking skills required—and all materials are supplied by the library. The focus is on enjoying the creative process while exploring new books and stories that connect to each day's theme. Food & Fiction is perfect for teens who enjoy being hands-on, love discovering new reads, or want to try something different in a relaxed group setting. Sessions run from 3:30 to 5:00 pm and are offered regularly throughout the fall and winter, giving families flexibility to drop in when it works best. Bring curiosity and an appetite; everything else is taken care of.
