In the Moment: Cultural Activities for the Memory Community

In the Moment: Cultural Activities for the Memory Community at West Building, Lobby

This free program brings together people experiencing memory changes and their care partners for meaningful group activities centered on North Carolina's cultural heritage. Held at the North Carolina Museum of Art, the session invites participants to engage with art, music, and stories from the state's past—all designed to spark conversation, celebrate different perspectives, and create moments of connection without pressure or performance. The program is part of a monthly series (happening the second Friday of each month) that partners with multiple North Carolina cultural institutions, including the Museum of Natural Sciences, Museum of History, and Zoo and Botanical Gardens. The July through October offerings focus on "the sounds of NC," exploring how artists have captured the state's rich musical and cultural traditions. Registration is required but free to attend.
