In the Moment: Cultural Activities for the Memory Community at Museum Park, Welcome Center

In the Moment is a welcoming program series created specifically for people experiencing memory changes and their care partners. Held on the second Friday of each month at the North Carolina Museum of Art's Welcome Center, these sessions invite participants to engage meaningfully with cultural topics—from art and nature to regional history. The November session celebrates America 250 by exploring iconic American landscapes with museum staff. Participants share perspectives, connect with others, and learn together in a supportive environment. This monthly program brings together resources from several major North Carolina cultural institutions, including the Museum of Natural Sciences, Museum of History, and the Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Each session runs about 90 minutes and is completely free. No special registration or advanced knowledge is required—just a desire to explore, learn, and spend time in good company. It's a thoughtful way for families to participate in enriching activities together while honoring the unique contributions everyone brings to the conversation.
