Incredible Science

Hands-on science exhibits at NC Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh.

Your kids will watch live science experiments and demonstrations for 30 minutes designed to spark curiosity about how the natural world works. The topics rotate, but you might see physics and chemistry in action—exploring ideas like inertia, buoyancy, and electromagnetism. Other sessions dive into nature itself, such as examining the unique structure of beaver teeth or learning why bird eggs are so remarkably strong. It's the kind of hands-on learning that makes science click for kids. This is a walk-up program, so no registration or advance tickets needed—just show up. It's best suited for children ages 7 and up, and admission is completely free. The program runs regularly throughout the week at the same time slot, so you can fit it into your schedule whenever it works best for your family. It's a quick but engaging way to spend part of your museum visit.
