Incredible Science
Hands-on science activities and exploration at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
Your kids will love this quick burst of hands-on learning! Incredible Science offers a 30-minute program packed with live experiments and demonstrations that bring science to life. What you'll see changes from session to session, but expect engaging physics and chemistry in action—think inertia, buoyancy, and electromagnets—alongside fascinating natural science facts like why beaver teeth are so tough or how bird eggs are engineered to be so strong. It's the kind of experience that sparks curiosity and makes science feel real and exciting.
This is a walk-up program, so no advance registration needed—just show up during the scheduled time. It works wonderfully for kids ages 7 and up, though families with younger children are welcome too. Best of all, it's completely free. You'll find the program in Windows on the World on the 3rd floor of the Nature Exploration Center in downtown Raleigh. The sessions run regularly on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 1:30 p.m., plus Saturday mornings and afternoons, making it easy to fit into your family's schedule.
