Incredible Science

Hands-on science demonstrations and experiments at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

Your kids can dive into a fun, fast-paced half hour of hands-on science at this weekly drop-in program. Each session features live experiments and demonstrations that shift day to day—one week you might explore physics concepts like inertia and buoyancy, the next you could learn about electromagnetism or discover surprising facts about how strong bird eggs really are. The scientists also dive into natural topics like the fascinating structure of beaver teeth. It's the kind of program where kids see real science happening right in front of them. This is a walk-up event, so no advance registration needed—just show up and join in. It's designed with kids ages 7 and up in mind, though families with younger children are welcome too. Best of all, admission is completely free. You'll find the program at Windows on the World inside the Nature Exploration Center, and it runs throughout the week at various times so you can pick what works for your schedule.
