Kids Chess Club
Kids Chess Club at Chapel Hill Public Library—learn and play.
Your child can join other young chess enthusiasts for casual games and play at the library's Kids Chess Club. This is a relaxed, social gathering where kids of different abilities come together to enjoy the game. The club welcomes everyone, whether your child plays regularly or is still learning—just keep in mind that this isn't a teaching session, so some familiarity with chess rules is helpful.
The group meets in Meeting Room B at the library for an hour of open play. It's a great way for kids to practice their skills, make friends who share their interests, and have fun in a supportive environment. Please be aware that the library does photograph and video record events, so your child may appear in photos or videos shared by the library.
