Knit or Crochet a Hat for a Community Mamber

Knit or Crochet a Hat for a Community Mamber

Knit or crochet hats to donate to people in need through Acorn Caps.

Help keep kids warm this winter by creating handmade hats for Acorn Caps, a community organization dedicated to distributing winter accessories and other essentials to people in need. Whether you're an experienced fibercrafter or just picking up needles or a hook for the first time, this is a meaningful way to contribute. You'll work on your projects throughout the summer and fall, then drop off completed hats at the Main Library through the end of the year. Getting started is easy and affordable. Stop by the Main Library to borrow supplies, pattern books, and other resources to support your project. Free patterns for child-sized winter hats are available on Ravelry.com, a website designed for knitters and crocheters, and the library's own knitting and crochet section has plenty of pattern books on hand. For more information about Acorn Caps and their mission, visit AcornCaps.org. This activity welcomes people of all ages and skill levels—families, teens, and adults alike.
