Lego Lab @ Southwest

Lego Lab @ Southwest

Monthly LEGO building challenge at Southwest Regional Library with sorting and collaboration.

Kids love a good building challenge, and this monthly program at Southwest Regional gives them exactly that. Each session kicks off with a themed building task that gets creative minds working. For the first hour, children tackle the Challenge of the Day, designing and constructing their own creations with Lego bricks. The program wraps up with a collaborative sorting activity where builders help organize blocks together—a chance to wind down and connect with other kids who share their interests. What makes this program special is the community aspect. Children's finished creations get displayed at the library for several weeks, giving them that rewarding feeling of seeing their work appreciated. The program runs one Wednesday each month and welcomes elementary-aged kids, kindergarteners, and preschoolers. It's a great fit for children who enjoy hands-on building, problem-solving, and working alongside peers in a relaxed library setting.
