Little Explorers: Pond Exploration @ Beth Schmidt Park

Bring your young nature enthusiast to Beth Schmidt Park for a morning of hands-on pond discovery. Children will wade into the water and surrounding wetland areas to observe the plants, insects, frogs, and other creatures that call the pond home. With guidance from the program leaders, kids will develop observation skills while learning how all these organisms work together as an ecosystem. This free program welcomes children ages 2 and up, as long as each child has a parent, grandparent, or other supervising adult present throughout the activity. Plan to dress for the weather in comfortable, closed-toe shoes that can handle getting wet and muddy. Consider packing sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle to stay comfortable during your outdoor exploration. Just arrive at the park and head to the designated meeting spot before the program begins—no registration required.
