Live Animal Feeding: Lobster

Watch staff feed a live Maine lobster during this short, hands-on program at the Arthropod Zoo. You'll get to meet the Living Collections team and learn fascinating details about these impressive creatures—like how lobsters strengthen their hard exoskeletons by incorporating minerals such as lime. It's a quick 15-minute experience perfect for curious kids and families who want to see these feisty crustaceans up close. No registration is needed; just show up during the scheduled time. The program is completely free and welcomes visitors of all ages, making it an easy addition to your museum visit. You'll find the Arthropod Zoo on the 4th floor of the Nature Exploration Center in downtown Raleigh.
