Live Animal Feeding: Lobster

Live Animal Feeding: Lobster

Live Animal Feeding: Lobster at Downtown Raleigh

Watch staff members feed a Maine lobster during this short, hands-on program at the Arthropod Zoo. You'll get to meet the Living Collections team and learn fascinating details about how these fierce crustaceans work. Their tough exoskeletons are reinforced with minerals like lime, which helps them survive in their ocean environment. It's a quick 15-minute experience that gives kids an up-close look at one of nature's most interesting creatures. This is a walk-up program, so no advance registration is needed—just show up and join in. The program is completely free and welcomes families with children of all ages, teens, and adults. It takes place on the fourth floor of the Nature Exploration Center in the Arthropod Zoo area. This is a great opportunity for curious minds to see real animal behavior and chat with the experts who care for these animals every day.
