Live Animal Feeding – Ocean Habitat

Watch live ocean animals fed at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

Watch staff members feed the diverse marine animals living in the Our Changing Oceans aquarium during this short, drop-in program. You'll see angelfish, tangs, grunts, balloonfish, and lobsters being fed in the 10,000-gallon habitat. It's a great chance to ask questions and learn from the museum's Living Collections staff about ocean life and how these creatures are cared for. This is a walk-up program with no registration needed—just show up and enjoy. It runs for about 15 minutes and is completely free. The program happens multiple times each week, making it easy to fit into your family's schedule. Kids of all ages will find something to enjoy watching these fascinating underwater animals at feeding time.
