Live Animal Feeding – Ocean Habitat

Watch live feeding of ocean animals at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

Watch staff members feed the diverse marine creatures living in the Our Changing Oceans aquarium during this short, engaging program. You'll get to see angelfish, tangs, grunts, balloonfish, and lobsters in action while learning from the museum's Living Collections team. The 10,000-gallon habitat is home to several species, so there's plenty to observe. This is a walk-up program, meaning you can simply show up without advance registration—just arrive at the scheduled time and head to the Our Changing Oceans exhibit on the first floor of the Nature Research Center. The program runs just 15 minutes, making it perfect for families with young children or anyone looking for a quick, educational activity. It's completely free to attend, and the casual format works well for all ages. Since no sign-up is required, you have flexibility in your schedule. The program repeats on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the same time, so if you miss one date, you have other opportunities to catch the feeding.
