Live Animal Feeding – Ocean Habitat

Watch live ocean-habitat animal feeding at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.

Watch as staff members feed the marine animals in the Our Changing Oceans aquarium during this short, engaging program. You'll get to see the feeding in action and have a chance to chat with the Living Collections team about the ocean habitat. The 10,000-gallon tank is home to a variety of colorful and interesting species, including several types of angelfish and tangs, various grunt species, balloonfish, and lobsters—so there's plenty to observe during the 15-minute session. This is a walk-up program, so no advance registration is needed. It's completely free and welcomes visitors of all ages, making it perfect for families who want a quick, educational experience. The program runs on select days throughout the week, so you can drop in whenever it fits your schedule. It's a wonderful way to learn about ocean life and the work the museum does to care for these animals.
