Live Animal Feeding – Ocean Habitat
Live ocean-habitat animal feeding at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
Your family is invited to watch a live feeding of ocean animals in the Our Changing Oceans aquarium! During this short program, you'll get to see the fish and marine creatures in action while chatting with the museum's Living Collections staff. The 10,000-gallon tank is home to several species, including multiple types of angelfish and tangs, various grunt fish, balloonfish, and lobsters. This is a casual, walk-up experience—no need to sign up in advance.
The program runs just 15 minutes, making it a perfect activity to fit into your museum visit without extra planning. It's suitable for all ages and is completely free with regular museum admission. The feeding happens on select mornings, so you can drop by whenever it works for your schedule. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn about ocean habitats and see how these animals behave in a museum setting.
