Live Animal Feeding – Ocean Habitat

Watch live ocean animals fed at NC Museum of Natural Sciences downtown.

Watch as staff members feed the creatures in the Our Changing Oceans aquarium during this short, hands-on program. You'll get to see several fascinating species in action—including angelfish, tangs, grunts, balloonfish, and lobsters—all living together in a 10,000-gallon habitat. The Living Collections staff will be on hand to answer questions and share insights about ocean life, making it a great chance for kids to learn while watching real animals being fed. This is a walk-up program, so no registration or tickets are needed—just show up and join in. It's a quick 15-minute experience that works well for families with children of all ages, and best of all, it's completely free. The program runs on a regular schedule, so you can plan your visit accordingly.
