Meet the Keepers
Meet bees, chickens & learn about edible plants at Duke Gardens' Discovery Garden.
Your family is invited to stop by the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden and chat with the horticulturists and volunteers who care for the space. You'll get to learn about the bees, chickens, and edible plants that thrive there. Just look for staff in Duke Gardens shirts—they're happy to explain what they're working on and answer your questions. This drop-in program welcomes visitors of all ages, making it a flexible addition to your gardens visit.
The event is completely free and requires no advance registration. Keep in mind that the garden area involves outdoor paths that are a mix of paved and unpaved surfaces with some gentle slopes. Children will need an adult with them. Parking fees do apply to the gardens. If you have accessibility questions or need more information, reach out to the gardens education team at 919-668-1701 or GardensEducation@duke.edu.
