Nature Play Day at NCMA
Free outdoor nature play and exploration at NC Museum of Art's grounds.
Bring your little ones for a morning of outdoor exploration and creative play at the museum's park. Staff will set up a specially stocked play area with materials designed to spark imagination—think fort-building supplies, costumes, puppets, bubbles, paint, and more. A trained play facilitator will be on hand to guide the fun and help your children make the most of their time outdoors. The available supplies rotate monthly, so there's always something new to discover.
This is a free, drop-in program perfect for children seven and younger, though all ages are welcome to join in. Plan to arrive anytime during the two-hour window and stay as long as you'd like. Since everything happens outside, dress your kids in weather-appropriate clothes and don't worry about keeping them clean—messy play is part of the adventure! Meet the group near the Welcome Center when you arrive.
