Open Maker Session at the Makery at Boxyard RTP (Ages 6+)
Open maker sessions for kids & teens at Boxyard RTP—hands-on STEM projects in a creative space.
The Makery at Boxyard RTP is a creative space where kids ages 6 and up, teens, and adults can explore hands-on projects and building activities. During open sessions, you'll have access to tools and materials—everything you need is provided. Trained staff are on hand to guide you through setup, answer questions, and help spark ideas as you work. The space is designed to be safe, clean, and welcoming for makers of all skill levels.
Here's what you need to know before visiting: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Teens ages 14–17 are welcome to attend independently, though a parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver beforehand. Pre-registration is required to hold your spot. Sessions run across two time blocks (11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 3–7 p.m.), giving you flexibility to choose what works best for your family. Admission is $10–$20 per person. You can purchase tickets and register through their website.
