Open Maker Session at the Makery at Boxyard RTP (Ages 6+)
Drop-in maker space for kids to create, build, and explore hands-on projects.
Your kids can dive into hands-on creative projects at this open maker session designed for budding inventors and builders. The Makery at Boxyard RTP welcomes children ages 6 and up, along with teens and adults who want to tinker, build, and experiment. All the materials you'll need are provided, and staff members are on hand to help with tools, ideas, and setup—so no prior experience necessary. The space is clean, well-equipped, and designed to be welcoming for everyone.
Sessions run in two windows on Saturday: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Children under 14 need an adult with them, while teens 14 and older can attend independently (with a signed waiver from a parent or guardian). You'll need to register in advance, and admission is $10–$20 per person. This is a great option if your family enjoys creative play and wants a structured environment to explore making together.
