Open Maker Session at the Makery at Boxyard RTP (Ages 6+)
Drop-in maker space sessions for kids, tweens, and teens at Boxyard RTP.
Your kids can explore their creativity at this hands-on maker space designed for elementary-age children and up. During open sessions, families work on self-directed projects in a supportive environment where staff members are ready to help with tools, setup, and brainstorming. All materials you need are provided, so you just show up ready to make something. The space is clean, well-equipped, and welcoming to all skill levels.
Admission is $10–$20 per person, and you'll need to register in advance. Children under 14 must have an adult with them, while teens 14 and older can attend independently (though a guardian's waiver is required first). Sessions run in two time blocks—late morning into early afternoon, or late afternoon into evening—making it easy to fit into your schedule. This is a great option when your family wants unstructured creative time with expert support nearby.
