Parade of Wheels to Apex Fire Department's Splashdown ⭐️

Fourth of July celebration with Parade of Wheels, games, drone show, and fireworks at Hunter Street Park.

Celebrate Independence Day with a full evening of family-friendly activities at Hunter Street Park. The festivities kick off with the Parade of Wheels, where kids can decorate their bikes, wagons, tricycles, or other non-motorized vehicles in patriotic colors and roll down Hunter Street. Right after the parade, cool off with the Apex Fire Department's Splashdown—bring a towel! Throughout the evening, families can enjoy food trucks, a kids zone with inflatables and games, and an expanded drone light show that's unique to Apex. The event runs from 4:00 pm into the evening and ends with a fireworks display (weather permitting). Food options include numerous food trucks like Caribbean Kicker, Shawerma Bowl, Mac Daddy's, and Two Roosters Ice Cream. Best of all, admission is completely free. If you're interested in participating in the Parade of Wheels, registration is available online, and organizers will email weather updates to registered participants. A sensory-friendly space will be available at the nearby Apex Senior Center for families who need a quieter environment during the drone or fireworks shows.
