Preschool Story Time

Stories, songs & activities for preschoolers at Chapel Hill Public Library.

Preschool Story Time brings early literacy to life through a half-hour session packed with engaging stories, songs, and activities designed to build reading readiness. This program welcomes children ages 3 through 6, making it ideal for preschoolers and kindergarteners who are beginning their literacy journey. The combination of storytelling and musical elements creates a fun, interactive experience that supports language development in a group setting. Sessions happen regularly throughout the fall and early winter, giving families multiple opportunities to participate. The program takes place in the Kids' Program Room at the library, a dedicated space designed for young learners. Note that the library does photograph and video record events, so families should be aware of this documentation practice. This is a free, drop-in friendly way to expose your child to stories and songs while connecting with other families in your community.
