Public Tour

A docent-led exploration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's People's Collection awaits your family on this Saturday afternoon. You'll spend about 50 minutes discovering thousands of years of art and cultural treasures across multiple galleries. Your guide may focus on specific artists, highlight particular galleries, or walk you through the fundamentals and elements of art—the approach varies depending on what your docent chooses to emphasize that day. This tour works wonderfully for first-time visitors, as a post-lunch activity, or whenever you're curious to learn more about what the museum has to offer. Visitors of all ages are welcome to join in. There's no cost to participate—it's included with general admission. Simply meet your docent at the public tour sign in West Building when you arrive.
