Public Tour

Join a guided exploration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's People's Collection during this free public tour. Your docent will lead a 50-minute journey through galleries showcasing thousands of years of art and culture. Depending on the guide leading that day, you might explore multiple galleries, focus on particular artists, or learn about the fundamentals and elements of art itself. This is an excellent choice for families visiting the museum for the first time, or for anyone wanting a deeper look at the collection. All ages are welcome to participate. Simply meet your docent at the public tour sign in the West Building when you arrive—no advance registration needed. The tour works well as a standalone activity or as a follow-up to lunch at the museum's café.
