Public Tour

Looking for a relaxed way to explore the North Carolina Museum of Art? Join a guided tour of the People's Collection, a 50-minute experience that works well whether you're visiting for the first time, stopping by after grabbing lunch at the café, or simply want to discover the thousands of years of art and cultural treasures on display. Museum educators lead these tours and may focus on different galleries, highlight particular artists, or discuss the basic principles and techniques behind the artwork itself. What you'll experience depends on the docent leading your group, so each visit can feel fresh and unique. All family members are welcome to participate at no cost. Simply meet your docent at the public tour sign in the West Building when you arrive. Keep in mind that these tours run based on docent availability, so offerings may vary.
