Public Tour

Join a knowledgeable docent for a guided exploration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's West Building. This 50-minute tour introduces visitors to the People's Collection, which spans over 5,000 years of art and culture. It's a wonderful option whether you're experiencing the museum for the first time, looking for something to do after grabbing lunch at the café, or simply want to deepen your appreciation for art and artists. Every tour is unique—docents may lead you through multiple galleries, concentrate on particular artists, or discuss the fundamental principles of art itself. Since tours depend on docent availability, the focus and path vary each time. Children and adults of all ages are welcome to participate.
