Public Tour at West Building
Bring the family for a guided exploration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's impressive collection spanning over 5,000 years of art and culture. This 50-minute tour is led by a museum docent and works wonderfully as part of a first visit, a post-lunch activity, or whenever you're ready to dive deeper into what's on display. Your guide might spotlight specific galleries, highlight individual artists, or walk you through the basics of how art works—the focus varies depending on the docent leading the tour that day.
Everyone is welcome to join, from little ones to grandparents. Simply show up at the public tour sign in the West Building and meet your docent there. Best of all, admission and the tour itself are completely free. Keep in mind that tour availability depends on docent scheduling, so experiences may differ from visit to visit.
