Science Detectives: Beyond the Study Skin
Hands-on science workshop exploring skin and body systems at the museum.
Your kids will get an up-close look at how museum scientists work during this hour-long class. Designed for homeschooled and track-out students, the program focuses on specimen preservation and explores how museum collections help us learn about the natural world. This is a hands-on learning experience that goes deeper than typical museum visits, perfect for curious kids who want to understand the behind-the-scenes work of natural history museums.
The program is for children 11 and older, and while it's structured as a drop-off class, at least one adult needs to stay in the museum during the full hour. Registration is $12 per child ($9 for museum members), and you'll need to sign up at least 48 hours ahead. The museum has a cancellation policy that refunds only if they cancel the program or if you email to cancel at least two weeks in advance.
