Sensory Journey through Art

Virtual sensory-friendly art experience at NC Museum of Art.

Explore art in a whole new way with this special virtual program led by Perry Hurt, a former director of conservation at the North Carolina Museum of Art. During this one-hour session, your family will engage with artworks from the current "Seeing Red" exhibition through multiple senses—touch, taste, smell, and sound. You'll use items from a sensory kit mailed to your home, and audio descriptions guide you through an immersive experience designed to help everyone connect more deeply with the art. This program is completely free and welcoming to all families. Each household receives one sensory kit at no charge, sent to you before the event. If you're interested in attending, registration closes on Friday, July 31, so be sure to sign up in advance. It's a wonderful opportunity for kids and grown-ups to experience art together in a creative, hands-on way.
